We are a group of patients who volunteer to help students in the various healthcare professions at the University of Toronto. For most sessions, the students practise taking our medical history and then practise the clinical skills they have learned that day. It is a very flexible volunteer job - we are given a list of the dates when volunteer patients are needed and we sign up for any dates that we are free. Sessions are typically 1.5 - 3 hours long. It is incredibly rewarding to meet the students and their instructors and help them in their learning.
Participating in the Walk to Fight Arthritis as a Team from 2011 till the present has been GREAT: to date our families and friends have donated over $65,000 to this worthwhile cause. We look forward to continuing the tradition on Sunday June 2, 2019 at Ashbridges Bay Park. You can make a difference by donating to any of our team members. Thank you for your support.
PS - if you would like to participate in this medical education volunteer activity, please contact Nancy Roper at firstname.lastname@example.org. She can direct you to the volunteer coordinator at the teaching hospital that is most convenient for you.
