There is no cure for arthritis – a painful and devastating disease - that is why I am participating in the Virtual Walk for Arthritis.
Today, more than 6 million Canadians are affected by arthritis. These numbers are only going to increase. By 2035, 1 in 4 Canadians will have arthritis. This painful disease has affected my quality of life for the past 2 years, had affected my Mother during her living years to a debilitating state, affects my Mother In Law with chronic pain, my brother and many other close family members and friends. I recently had a total left hip replacement due to advanced arthritis in my left hip. I had chronic pain for close to 2 years, sleepless nights and the MRI showed a result of bone on bone stage 4 arthritis. I had very little option than to get a total replacement. 6 weeks post op, I am grateful that I was given the gift of a new left hip, and the opportunity to gain back my mobility, my sleep and quality of life. I want to help all others in the same situation, or future arthritis generation suffers to reduce the suffering associated with this disease.
As the prevalence of arthritis increases, so does the demand for investment into cutting-edge research, proactive advocacy and innovative information and support that will deliver better health outcomes for people affected by arthritis.
This year the Walk for Arthritis is celebrating its 10th year - help make this the best year ever by joining the Walk for Arthritis community and supporting this important cause! I will be walking for all of those suffering and for those with family and friends in the same situation as me, let's try to beat this and find options!!
Thank you in advance for your support!
