I'm not about to write Claire's entire story. If you know us, you know it. Besides, it would probably be a book! Suffice it to say that life is not always easy for her and she's had some serious challenges thrown her way. These challenges continue as there IS NO CURE. Only remission, flare, remission, flare....
I recently read a facebook post posted by the US-based Juvenile Arthritis Conference. Part of the message read, "Every day, these Warriors battle the challenges that try to hold them back. But in the end, WE WIN!"
It had been a week filled with tests, discouraging results, appointments, and new medications. It did not feel like victory. How can my daughter beat a disease which is currently incurable? Just a few days later, I was listening to Sean McCann's Victory Song. I began to think about all the ways Claire is victorious over JA. A few obvious things came to mind.
