Juvenile Arthritis... the monster we have been fighting for the last 3+ years.
Our Story: When our beautiful daughter, Everlee stopped progressing in her scooting, pulling herself up and development of walking at 18 months old, we had no idea what had happened... and neither did the doctors. We asked the dr’s if it could be “baby arthritis” and they said , “no, no, no... she’s too young for that” and thus started our journey of ruling things out to figure out what happened.
Fast forward 2 years and our smiley little girl has had 2 MRI’s (brain and spinal chord), 2 x-rays (hips and knees) and approx 6 bloods tests looking for Down syndrome, DNA sequencing, dwarfism, spinal bifida... just to name a few. All the while no new info to tell us what we’re up against.
Our amazing physio therapist, Jessica, worked hard to not only help Everlee try and maintain muscle tone, but fight to get her in front of anyone who may have a slight idea what’s going on... and that is where we started getting answers.
Shortly after that, Everlee was diagnosed with poly-articular Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis. It’s an auto immune disease and no one knows what causes it.
You can’t have hope if you don’t fight, and you can’t have answers if you don’t look for them... so please consider supporting us to raise awareness (esp for doctors) and help us raise money so that we can find the answers!
And if you want to be a part of “Everlee’s Entourage” then join our team and be ready to walk with us on June 2, 2019! If you want to support the walk but don’t live in the area, please consider supporting us financially, big or small! Every dollar counts!
