Put simply, there is no cure for arthritis – a painful and devastating disease. That is why I volunteer as a Director of the Board of The Arthritis Society and why I am participating in the Walk for Arthritis.
As a Board member, I have the privilege of seeing firsthand the tremendous impact of the investments in research made annually by The Arthritis Society, and the positive impact of our advocacy program in raising awareness of this debilitating disease and the urgent need to find a cure.
Today, over 6 million Canadians are affected by arthritis; and by 2035, 1 in 4 Canadians will have arthritis. So directly or indirectly, personally or through a loved one, friend or colleague, every one of us is in some way impacted by arthritis.
As the prevalence of arthritis increases, so does the demand for investment into cutting-edge research, proactive advocacy and innovative information and support that will deliver better health outcomes for people affected by arthritis.
This year the Walk for Arthritis is celebrating its 10th year. Please join me in doing our part to help make this the best year ever, and in supporting the work of The Arthritis Society.
Thank you so much for your consideration of my request for your support.
