Hello, my name is Savanna and I have been living with arthritis for most of my life. I was diagnosed at age 6 and I have battled with it ever since. Like others battling the disease, I have experienced chronic pain, fatigue and over all a decreased quality of living. I became involved with the Arthritis Society as a volunteer and advocate in 2016 to help create awareness and gain education on this debilitating disease.
Today, more than 6 million Canadians are affected by arthritis. These can be children or adults, most likely someone you know. These numbers are only going to increase. By 2035, 1 in 4 Canadians will have arthritis. That means that either yourself or someone you love may be affected in the future.
As the prevalence of arthritis increases, so does the demand for investment into cutting-edge research, proactive advocacy and innovative information and support that will deliver better health outcomes for people affected by arthritis.
This year the Walk for Arthritis is celebrating its 10th year - help make this the best year ever by joining the Walk for Arthritis community and supporting this important cause!
